Self Destructive Fools

Three of the strongest young artists of the British acoustic music scene, Pete Morton (vocals, guitar), Roger Wilson (vocals, guitars, mandolin, fiddle) and Simon Edwards (vocals, accordion), combine to produce a true 'project album'. This collaboration is a musical landmark for their generation.

Don't just take our word for it!

Urban Folk Self Destructive Fools
(Glasgow Herald - Saturday April 19th 1997)

Talk about teaspooning out the special reserve. It's seven years since Pete Morton, Roger Wilson and Simon Edwards played what is still a contender for gig of the decade at Edinburgh Folk Festival and, remarkably, the youthful energy they conveyed that night and on the subsequent recording remains intact. Urban lads they may be, and there's a city-born urgency to their attack, but with accordion, fiddle and mandolin in there the overall sound and choice of songs suggests a kind of English bluegrass/cajun music. The Belly Boys is reminiscent of early Richard Thompson, Jack O' Diamonds kicks like billy-o, and Little Musgrave is a classic Morton traditional ballad with phantom direction by Bleasdale. Great stuff - and if you missed Vol. 1 don't worry, it comes free. - ROB ADAMS
